The "STRONG" grief group is a supportive community that redefines what it means to be strong in grief and mourning. We believe strength is not about being unaffected, but about embracing vulnerability and allowing yourself to heal. Through Support, Time, Resilience, Openness, Nurturing, and Growth, this group provides a space for you to navigate your grief in your own way, while discovering the power in self-care, emotional expression, and personal growth. Join us to redefine strength, find comfort, and honor the memory of your loved one.

Emotional Preparedness Program for High School Students going through the College Applications process

The college application process, while an exciting opportunity, can often be stressful, overwhelming, and emotionally taxing for students. High expectations, fear of rejection, uncertainty about future choices, and the pressure to succeed can create mental and emotional strain. To better support students during this critical time, I propose the implementation of the S.T.R.I.V.E program, is a College Application Emotional Preparedness Program at Abraham Clarke High School. This program will focus on equipping students with the emotional and psychological tools they need to navigate the application process with resilience and confidence.
Program
Objectives
1. Provide Emotional Support: Equip students with the skills to manage stress, anxiety, and emotional highs and lows during the college application process.
2. Foster Resilience and Confidence: Help students build resilience in the face of setbacks such as rejections or unmet expectations and foster a healthy sense of self-worth throughout the process.
3. Normalize the Experience: Reduce feelings of isolation by emphasizing that challenges and setbacks are part of the process for all students, no matter their academic or extracurricular standing.
4. Promote Mental Health Awareness: Highlight the importance of mental health during the college application process and provide access to resources and support.
5. Encourage Self-Reflection and Mindfulness: Help students stay grounded through self-reflection practices, mindfulness, and other stress-reduction techniques.
6. Identify and establish values: Help students cultivate and reinforce core values such as responsibility, integrity, and perseverance, while helping students set boundaries to uphold these principles.
